Beowulf Yamaha's Pat McDougall will switch from the National Superstock 600 class onto a full-blown Superbike in 2010 with a new team using an ex-Karl Harris R1.

East Coast Racing fielded the youngster at the Silverstone British Endurance Championship round in September. Team boss Phil Reed was looking to expand his team to undertake British Superbikes and also a full roads programme for 2010, and Pat had shown that he could work well with the team and deliver results.

"It's a fantastic opportunity for me to move onto the R1 Superbike and building on the relationship that I have with Phil and team. I cannot wait to get testing starting in Spain in early January and sample the 200+BHP, traction control and all and then to compete starting at Brands Hatch, my favorite track, in April," said McDougall.

The team are competing at the Macau GP as part of their roads programme, with rider James McBride. From there the Rob Mac-built bikes will return to the UK in time for the beginning of winter testing for four days at Almeria  in the first week of January.
