MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Simon Andrews reckons that as soon as you get to grips with the Macau GP road circuit you can learn to ignore the walls - which he said he only hit once.
Andrews scored an impressive seventh on his debut and was running in sixth until the latter stages until his tyre went off and team-mate Michael Rutter went past. Even though the Evesham man enjoyed the race, he isn't harbouring any ideas about the TT.
"It was a great weekend and I really enjoyed it. Getting seventh on my first visit here is a great result for me and the team and I would have got sixth but my tyre didn't hold up," said Andrews, speaking to bikesportnews.com from somewhere very noisy this morning.
"Once you get to grips with the place you can ignore the walls really. I only hit a wall once in morning warm up but I suppose you have to rub your head on them occasionally as they're so close.
"We started third from last in first practice and have just got faster and faster over the weekend. I didn't know where the track went on Thursday and it's a pretty scary place.
"It is a bit like a short circuit here but you can't run into the turns trailing the front brake. A lot of people have asked me about the TT, but that's going a little too far. I am going to the Northwest next year just to have a rummage round, though."
