With festive activities in motion, many plans for the 2010 motorcyle racing season have been put on ice for the time being whilst the annoying sound of repetitive Christmas songs rattle away in your ears.
For one team though, this couldn’t be further from the truth as ‘Team THR’ return to the scene next year to enter a rider in the highly competitive Aprilia Superteen Challenge at Thundersport GB.
Ted Hurst, team owner, has been involved in racing as a whole for decades and is no stranger to getting his hands dirty in two stroke oil, he raced himself for 15 years before turning his attention to running a team at both British and European levels.
Ted won’t be alone for the new challenge either, as former British Championship rider and club Champion Jamie Hitter will partner Ted in the funding and running of the team.
Jamie raced for Ted himself for two successful seasons at British and European Championship level toward the end of his own riding career and both Jamie and Ted offer a wealth of experience to whoever steps into the role for next season.
Along with their 7.5 tonne truck, they will be purchasing an Aprilia RS 125cc machine, maintaining it throughout the season and only ask for the rider to turn up and pay for running costs.
With many still feeling the economic pinch, this could come as not just a relief to a hot prospect within the sport but an opportunity to make a name for themselves in the world’s most successful one make series.
The team are looking for a rider aged 12-17, all interested parties should contact Jamie Hitter on 07780995505 or email here
