MURPHY COMPLETES JDF RACING LINE-UP FOR 2010 SEASON
26/01/2010By David Miller
Irish 14-year-old Darragh Murphy has signed to ride for the JDF Racing outfit in THundersport's GP3 series and he will be on the ex-Fraser Rogers Honda setup by Magnum Motorsport.
Murphy, who completes a three-rider line-up for JDF alongside Chrissy Rouse and Callum Bey, is an ex-Irish Superteen Champion and former motocrosser, and competed in the Irish 125GP series last season.
"I had discussions early on in the season with JDF of the possibility of running Darragh for 2010, I was keen however to ensure Darragh was ready to compete in all rounds of the GP3 series where we felt he would get some benefit and we competed in selected rounds last year as a fact finding exercise," said Murphy's father Martin.
"It is a good competition to establish a standard. We have watched the GP3 grow in competitiveness, it is the place to be to improve a rider, the atmosphere of the Thundersport paddock is also very positive. Dave and Bernadette Stewart and the rest of the Thundersport team are running, in our opinion, the best organised promotion we have competed in thus far."
