Ben Wylie, who was voted best newcomer at last year's Isle of Man TT Festival, has secured a berth alongside Carl Rennie in Phase One Yamaha's road racing team.
The youngster will move up to the Superbike category but will also continue to run a Supersport bike. He will head off to Albacete with the team for testing on March 15.
"Ever since working with Ben in the Shell Endurance Academy Team in 2005, I have been impressed with his determination and grit. My challenge will be to help him channel that enthusiasm and to focus it on race success," said team boss Russell Benney.
"Some of the skills he learnt in World Endurance will be drawn on this season. To be safe and competitive on the roads, he is going to need the ability to maintain extremely high levels of concentration for long periods; just like in the Le Mans 24-Hours. He will also need a high level of physical fitness and must be mentally prepared."
