HM Plant Honda's Josh Brookes finished today's Guadix British Superbike test at the top of the timesheets with a 1'13.6 lap which was enough to keep him ahead of Work Suzuki's Tommy Hill and the Swan Honda of James Ellison.

Brookes, who will return to the UK tomorrow as all his immigration paperwork has been sorted before the season stars, sounds happy with his test performance so far and with the new Ohlins suspension.

"It's goood to leave Guadix quickest but you can never have too much testing, in my opinion. We got a lot of stuff done and now have a good setting going into the first round, although we may test at Cadwell first," said the affable Aussie, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening.

"I have ridden on Ohlins before but never the factory stuff and it would take a long phone call to tell you the differences between that and the Showa units we ran last year.

"I'm really pleased with how it has gone in testing as we have been able to look at a load of settings on the electronics and suspension and I reckon we're in pretty good shape. I hope we do go testing at Cadwell as I haven't ridden there before as I wasn't in a position to last season."
