Moto Rapido Ducati will be the first Superbike team in the world to compete with the new 1199 Panigale when they take to the grid at the British Superbike opener in April at Brands Hatch.
After working closely with the Corse race department, Moto Rapido will field a pair of PanicEarlys in BSB but it is not yet certain who will ride them. Incumbent Scott Smart has a long history with the team so he is a safe bet but rumours haven't placed a second man on the bike.
“It has been a massive shift for us in the past two years. We’ve come from being a small dealer team to a Ducati supported effort in British Superbikes. I am so proud of what we have achieved in the past couple of seasons and long may it continue, the technical support from Italy has been excellent and we are looking forward to working closer with them this year,”said team owner Steve Moore.
“The playing field for 2012 is level and it has never been more level in the history of the series. We have one of the most experienced riders on the grid who is also a British champion. With Ducati’s help and the backing of our two main sponsors Solent Scientific and Key2 Group, there is no reason we can’t be giving last year’s front-runners a hard time."
