Polita will return for Donington and Brands BSB rounds

Former Italian Superbike Champion Alex Polita will be back in MCE BSB action for two rounds later this season as he races a Ducati Panigale, in Lloyds British colours, at first Donington Park and then in the finale at Brands Hatch.

And depending on how it works out John Hackett of Ducati Coventry could be looking to field a two-rider team for the 2013 campaign.

Polita tested with the team recently at Donington Park and the Italian was delighted with the performance of the bike, which had undergone major works under the expert preparation eye of Hackett.

“Alex felt the bike was much better than it had been and was as good as the factory bike that he has been testing so we are all quite pleased with the outcome,” explained Hackett who also gave an insight into the return of the rider and bike to the championship scene.

“The factory agreed to let us have two bikes for the season – one belongs to me at Ducati Coventry, the other to one of my very good customers and long term friend who entrusted it to me. The bikes were loaned to Jentin Racing but after the Snetterton round we took them back to Ducati Coventry.”
