2017 Ulster GP: Dundrod support races and injury update

Dundrod 150 National race

British Supersport Championship regular Joey Thompson took victory in a shortened Dundrod 150 National race by six seconds from former National Superstock 600cc front runner Davey Todd.

Riding the ILR Kawasaki, Thompson led from the start and, aided by the fastest lap of the race 121.705mph, was over six seconds clear of fellow newcomer Todd when the race was stopped with the leaders on their fourth lap.

Jonathan Perry (Yamaha) got the verdict for third just ahead of another British Supersport Championship points scorer, Josh Daley. All four circuit debutantes lapped at more than 120mph.

Ultra-Lightweight/Lightweight race

Bruce Anstey (Padgetts Honda) dominated proceedings in the 5-lap Lightweight race, lapping at some stages almost ten seconds quicker than his nearest rival. With a fastest lap of 117.020mph, the Kiwi led from start to finish with his eventual winning margin over Neil Kernohan some 38.996s. A four-rider dice for third went all the way to the line with Davy Morgan coming home ahead of Callum Laidlaw, Paul Owen and Seamus Elliott.

In the concurrently run Ultra-Lightweight race, Christian Elkin and Paul Robinson had a race-long dice which saw the lead constantly change hands. However, it was Robinson who got the verdict by just half a second with a new lap record of 110.311mph on his final lap. Adam McLean completed the podium in third.
