Brands BSB: Gowland quickest in Supersport practice

Seton Yamaha's Graeme Gowland was quickest in this morning's Motorpoint British Supersport free practice session, pipping championship leader and lap record holder Alastair Seeley in the closing minutes.

Gearlink Kawasaki's Seeley was the early pace setter before cup leader, Jake Dixon, posted a lap time of 1'28.695 to jump to the top of the time sheets. Dixon instantly came under threat for top spot, with Northumbrian Graeme Gowland setting the fastest first sector and then second sector but got held up in the final sector only managing to take third quickest.

The following lap, with under two minutes remaining, Gowland had clear track ahead of him and made good use of it, setting a lap time of 1'28.553, the quickest of the session. Dixon held on to second ahead of Seeley in third. Mar-Train Yamaha's Stuart Easton showed a change in form from Snetterton to take fourth quickest ahead of Australian Jason O'Halloran.

Appleyard Macadam Yamaha's Deane Brown showed his best pace of the year to end sixth quickest followed by the Triumph's of Billy McConnell and Luke Stapleford. Oxford TAG Triumph's Richard Cooper ended the forty minute session ninth, with the recovering Glen Richards rounding out the top ten.

Gearlink Kawasaki's Ben Wilson struggled for pace ending the session fourteenth, with setup issues to be resolved before qualifying later this afternoon for the man lying third in the championship.
