CF Motorsport’s Callan Cooper secured a comfortable Pirelli National Superstock 600 win at Cadwell Park, and ended the race six seconds in front of second place winner Moto-breakers Kawasaki’s James Lodge and Be Wiser Kawasaki’s Nick Anderson.
Cooper led from the start and pushed away from the rest of the leading pack, but was challenged by Gearlink Kawasaki’s Luke Hedger. But it was not to last for the Yate rider as he crashed out at Park Corner on lap one, leaving Cooper to storm ahead. On lap five he clocked a new lap record in the process with a 1’31.884.
With Hedger out of podium contention a battle for the second step on the rostrum broke out between Lodge and Anderson. It was neck and neck for the majority of the race, but on the final lap Anderson tried to overtake the Huddersfield lad at Park Corner but the move didn’t stick and Lodge clinched second with Anderson crossing the finishing line 0.3 seconds behind, and in doing so won his first podium of the year.
There were many mini-battles breaking out on the Lincolnshire track with Team AHR racer Jordan Simpkin and HWW Racing’s Grant Whitaker vying for the fourth place. But Simpkin was just too strong and Whitaker ended up rounding off the top five.
On the penultimate lap the fight for eighth place started to heat up with Chris Walker Race School’s Mason Law, Moto-Breaker’s Levi Day and PWR’s Peter Wakefield all trying to out pace each other. In the end Law had that extra speed to clinch seventh, followed by Law and Wakefield, with Team Green’s Tom Fisher rounding off the top ten.
Some rider’s did fall foul to the difficult track, including Haribo Starmix rider Joe Collier and MWR Kawasaki’s Harry Hartley.
