Former British Superbike front-runner and the three-time Supersport Champion Karl Harris has signed with Robin Croft's SMT Honda squad and will race all three litre classes in his Isle of Man TT debut this year as well as looking at the possibility of a British Superbike wildcard.
The burly northerner has been on the island this week getting a feel for what the Mountain Circuit is all about, doing laps with rider liaison officer Richard 'Milky' Quayle and sizing up the massive task ahead of him as he prepares to take on Superbike, Superstock and Senior duties on the Fireblade.
"It's properly exciting. I've done a few laps now with Milky and the place is awesome but you've got it treat it with the respect it deserves. Saying that, I'm looking forward to doing a few jumps off Ballaugh Bridge though," said Harris, speaking to bikesportnews.com from the island last night.
"I've got a long association with Robin and the boys at SMT so it's great to do this for the first time with a team I know and trust. I've always wanted to do the TT just never had the opportunity so it is really something to look forward to. I've got a lot of work to do looking at on-board DVDs so it's going to be a learning process but it will be fun."
