Linfoot looking to fine-tune bike balance before BSB opener

Buidbase BMW's Dan Linfoot will look to fine-tune the balance of his S1000RR before the First round of this year's British Superbike Championship in a fortnight following a successful set of shakedowns at Mallory Park and Snetterton.

The former 250cc Grand Prix man is back in the BSB paddock with Stuart Hicken's squad and says he put down some 'reasonable' laptimes on Thursday at the Norfolk track but just been to balance the bike slightly better.

"It was only the second time I had ridden it so by the end of the day we for down to some reasonable times I think, and not too far away from where we need to be. When I got the rear of the BMW as I wanted it, it made the front a little vague so when I then tried to fix that, we were losing grip on the rear but it will come," said the Wetherby toast-rack, speaking to bikesportnews.com this afternoon.

"Because the bike is new for this year, we haven't got any useful data we can transfer over from 2011 but the team know in which direction we need to push and I have every confidence in them. I am hping to get out on it again before the season starts, just to get a few more miles under me."
