Nine-time world champion will decide whether or not to re-join Yamaha for the 2013 season during the upcoming summer break.
Following the shock announcement that Ben Spies is quitting the team and leaving a Doctor-shaped hole next to his former team-mate Jorge Lorenzo, Rossi said yesterday at Laguna Seca that although he had had further talks with Ducati, there were other options to consider.
"I still don’t decide because it is a bit too early. I spoke a lot with Ducati for next year and I’m still waiting for some important things on the contract and I have also some other option for next year but I think anyway the situation will be more clear in the next weeks and I think in the summer break I will decide for next year," said Rossi at Laguna Seca yesterday.
"Under my point of view, money is not very important. Everything have some important and some negative things so I have to make the clear balance and make the decision.
"With some other choice is more safe and more sure that it is possible to be more safe and more competitive in a short period. It is also a particular moment of my career so it is more important for the future."
