Monster Yamaha's Cal Crutchlow will not undergo an operation to pin the ankle he fractured during free practice at Silverstone and will let the healing process do what it can ahead of the next MotoGP round at Assen a week on Friday.
The Coventry rider would have to undergo another medical if he were to have surgery and, after the pain he suffered at Silverstone to try and get passed fit to race, we're all with him.
"They passed me fit here so they will have to pass me fit for Assen, unless I have an operation but I won't be having an operation. I've got to rest up, let the healing process do what it does and try to see if we can come back stronger at Assen," said Crutchlow, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
"The doctors said they could operate and put a pin in it, but the guy who I saw on Saturday, who is an ankle specialist, said it would make it worse. Doctors told me I was not allowed to put any weight on my foot for eight to ten weeks but me being a typical motorcycle racer, that's eight to ten hours."
