Nurburgring WSBK: Camier out of second race

FIXI Crescent Suzuki’s Leon Camier has been forced to withdraw from this afternoon’s second World Superbike Championship race following a huge crash in race one that has left him needing a precautionary scan in hospital.

Camier was battling for fifth position in race one, but hit a patch of oil on the track that had spilled from a recently crashed bike and lost control of his machine at high-speed.

He was immediately assessed at trackside by the medical staff at Nurburgring and was then flown by Air Ambulance to Stiffungs Klinicum in Koblenz for further observations on potential neck injuries. Despite the accident Camier left the circuit in good spirits and had full movement and feeling in the rest of his body.
