Oulton BSB: 'Niggling problems' slow Byrne

Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki man Shane Byrne came away with one-hand on an MCE British Superbike Showdown spot after securing a trio of podiums despite being plagued by chatter for a good part of the weekend.

The two-time champion, like everyone else, didn't have the pace to stay with triple winner Tommy Hill and saw his second-place in the championship chase re-taken by Josh Brookes but he bagged vital podium credits on the run in to the cut-off point.

"To have a bad weekend and still come away with three podiums and one hand on a Showdown place isn't bad going but I was a long way off a win. We had some niggling problems which haven't helped this weekend so we need to sort these and come out fighting at Brands Hatch. Well done to Tommy Hill, he rode really well this weekend but next time out might be another story," said Byrne.
