Puttrell 'making excellent progress' despite injuries

The family of Pirelli National Superstock 600 rider James Puttrell, who was involved in a crash at the Brands Indy BSB round, have provided an update on his condition.

The April incident left Puttrell with multiple, serious injuries and in a critical condition. The youngster broke his back, several ribs, both collarbones, left arm and had a serious head injury.

Due to the severity of his back injury, unfortunately the family have confirmed that the damage to his spinal cord is irreparable and will be life changing, leaving him unable to walk.

However, Puttrell is making excellent progress in Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridgeshire, responding well to his family and friends and seems to be his old self again and still has his sense of humour.

He has a good support network around him which is keeping him positive and he has huge determination to recover and get through the rehabilitation process.

His rehabilitation will be long with a transfer to Stoke Mandeville expected at some point. He will need a lot of specialist equipment to help him get back to as normal a life as possible so the family have set up a donation web page. If you feel that you are able to help him it would be very much appreciated, so please follow the link - http://www.gofundme.com/yzdg8gc.
