Snetterton BSB: Brookes to give new engine spec full test

Tyco Suzuki's Josh Brookes hopes the engine tweaks his team made ahead of the Knockhill round will translate to the much faster Snetterton circuit for this weekend's MCE British Superbike encounter.

Brookes, who returned from a break in Australia yesterday, felt as though the new engine spec was an improvement at the Scottish track but because of its short nature, he wants to test it thoroughly this weekend.

"We had a spec of engine we used at Knockhill. It felt good to me as I was able to not lose so much coming out of turns as I had been to, say, Shakey, in previous rounds" said Brookes, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.

"But Knockhill is short in comparison to Snetterton so we will see if it translates to a faster circuit. It felt good to me but it isn't something you could have seen on the telly last time out as the straights are short.

"Sometimes, when an engine is tweaked and you get bigger numbers, it doesn't feel great but this was definitely an advantage. I think it is something we can use to give Shakey, and Alex, a harder time."
