Today, the ACU has issued a statement regarding John McGuinness' eligiblity to race at the Classic TT later on this month.

The Isle of Man TT legend has been unable to ride competitively so far this year and as yet would not have the required licence signatures to take part in the event but has assured the governing body he will have.

The statement reads:

There has been some speculation regarding the eligibility for John McGuinness to take part in the forthcoming Classic TT event with respect to the Mountain Course Licence Requirement.

John has been informed that he will achieve the riding requirements to take part, subject to completing club races and an endurance race this weekend.
