Aegerter tests Kawasaki MotoGP prototype at Jerez

Moto2 pilot Dominique Aegerter has spent the day riding an Akira-built, Kawasaki powered prototype at Jerez alongside the World Superbike field but no transponder means times are being kept secret.

Akira, who work closely with Kawasaki on a number of projects including WSBK, turned up with the bike using an ZX-10R motor which is an evolution of one used by the Avintia MotoGP team this year.

The bike was also running old-spec Michelin tyres, so no-one is quite sure what they were trying to achieve and it was all hidden under ZX-7RR bodywork.
