Ducati reveal 2018 821 Monster

We’re poised for the Milan show goodness, and will gratefully snaffle crumbs from any table. And mixing our food-based metaphors for a minute, Ducati has just tossed us an early bone, with this, an update to its neat entry-level middleweight twin, the Monster 821.

Most of the spec is as you were - but the little roadster gets an equipment upgrade, with a new TFT colour LCD dash, and optional up/down Ducati quickshifter fitment. There’s also a new Monster 1200R - style silencer, and new LED headlight and the overall look is sharpened up to match the bigger Monsters. What’s not uprated is the power output - there’s actually a small drop in grunt over the old 821, down to 109bhp and 63ft lbs of torque.

More on Ducati’s 2018 range as we get it - the Bologna massive had its dealer conference in Como at the weekend, so there’ll be leaks aplenty on the new V4 and all the other stuff soon, we’d imagine.
