Wednesday’s best lap times at the Motorland Aragon WorldSBK tests came under no threat on a wet final day, with only a couple of riders taking to the track at all.

The new Ducati Panigale V4R got some shakedown laps in wet conditions, first from Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Barni Racing Ducati) and then from Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Ducati), who was pleased with its initial performance and balance in the wet as he had been on day one in the dry.

The best lap times overall remained unchanged because of the track conditions, leaving Jonathan Rea (KRT) way out front, but eager to get to the next set of tests at Jerez, between the 26th and 27th of November. He wants to make some more advances in his chassis set-up to suit his engine’s higher revving nature in 2019.

Leon Haslam (KRT) did not lap in the dry and although he lost some time on day one, he was another going away smiling after his first 2019 testing experience.

Alex Lowes (Pata Yamaha WorldSBK) and Michael van der Mark (Pata Yamaha WorldSBK) will each have time to recover before Jerez – Lowes from a winter illness and VDM from a still troublesome left hand injury suffered at Qatar.

As well as the Ducati, Kawasaki and Yamaha official teams, GRT Yamaha should be at Jerez with Marco Melandri and Sandro Cortese, and Alvaro Bautista will be free of his MotoGP commitments and will join Davies on the all-new official Ducati. Rinaldi will not be at this next test.
