Tom Booth-Amos is the new 2017 HEL Performance British Motostar champion after his race win at Assen on Sunday.
The City Lifting KTM rider picked up his 17th victory of the season and the title to boot with a dominant performance, crossing the line with an 8.7 second gap over his fellow rivals at the Dutch circuit.
The newly crowned champ made a great start from pole leading the race after the opening lap, and began to pull a maintainable gap over the chasing pack of Archer and Soppe.
As the laps got less and less the Newport based rider extended the gap, and eventually crossed the line to collect more silverware in the class. At the end of race two it was Booth-Amos’ team-mate, Jake Archer who finished in second.
Dutchman Walid Soppe clinched the final spot on the rostrum, with Germany’s Tim Georgei and Austrian, Max Kofler completing the top five.
British riders, Banks Racing’s Edward Rendell, Asher Durham and Storm Stacey rounded up the top ten, in a race that was held in dry conditions. After the two races in the Netherlands Jake Archer is second overall with 383 points with Stacey in third.
