Reigning WorldSSP Champion Kenan Sofuoglu set a new class lap record on his way to pole position for tomorrow’s race at the Assen WorldSBK round.
The Puccetti Kawasaki man set a 1’37.805 to top the timesheets and has a seven-tenth advantage over MV Agusta’s PJ Jacobsen in second place with Michael Canducci’s last lap of 1’38.556 proving enough to bag the final front-row space.
Lucas Mahias took his Yamaha R6 to fourth place with Jules Cluzel in fifth and Sheridan Morais denied Luke Stapleford to take sixth.
Stapleford, on the Profile Triumph, had set a 1’38.738 which put him fourth but he slipped back down the order to finish one place ahead of compatriot Kyle Smith. Federico Caricasulo too ninth with Kyle Ryde tenth. Hannes Soomer and Gino Rea complete row four with Nikki Tuuli in 13th.
