Badovini, De Rosa sign for newly-formed MV Agusta by Vamag team

Former WorldSBK stars Ayrton Badovini and Raffaele De Rosa have signed to ride for an MV Agusta WorldSSP squad that has come about with the merger of the works and satellite teams.

The Reparto Corse outfit, which ran PJ Jacobsen this year, has pulled together with Vamag - who signed Roby Rolfo and latterly Lorenzo Zanetti - to create the two-man squad who are both former STK1000 champions.

“I feel reborn, the realization of this opportunity gives me a strong boost for the new season. Feeling involved by an official team, with top staff and top technical conditions, it turns on that enthusiasm and that fighting spirit that I hadn’t felt for a while," said Badovini.

"It seems I am back to 2010, when I won the STK1000 world title. We will work hard, especially in the winter tests, and we will try to be with the best riders since the first race in Australia. Thanks to the whole MV Agusta family, to Andrea Quadranti and Gianfranco Crosta for the trust they gave me”.

De Rosa added: “It is an honour for me to represent the official MV Agusta brand in WorldSSP. Although I would have liked to continue another season in WorldSBK, when I received the call from the Team, I have immediately said yes. The F3 has always been among the top bikes of this class and the team is working on several technical improvements that we will soon test. I am more than motivated and I cannot wait to try the bike on the track. Thanks to Andrea Quadranti, Giovanni Castiglioni and Gianfranco Crosta for this wonderful opportunity."
