Honda's Dan Linfoot has abandoned his 2018 Suzuka Eight-Hours ride after suffering a suspected broken left scaphoid in a race-one crash at the Brands Hatch Bennetts British Superbike round,

Linfoot went down at Westfield on lap six and the crash put paid not not just his weekend but also the upcoming Suzuka race where he was meant to ride for the Moriwaki team.

"The full extent is unclear at the moment, so I’ve got to have some further checks and scans this week. It’s so frustrating as I am just back from injury," said Linfoot.

"We had such a good first round on the podium and now another injury and another set back. We’ve just got to see what the prognosis is now on the injury and take it from there."
