Leon Haslam is closer than he has ever been to a Bennetts British Superbike title and should wrap it up on Saturday at Brands Hatch.
The Derby rider has never won on a Kawasaki using the GP layout, so that is one of his other objectives this weekend and with a 61-point lead with only 75 points on the table, it should be a formality.
“I am looking forward to Brands Hatch and I honestly can’t wait now. I feel like we need to wrap it up and we are in a good position with the lead that we have, but I have objectives for the weekend,” said Haslam.
“The main one is obviously to win this championship, but the other is that I have never won on a Kawasaki at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit. My first aim is to win the first or all three and then hopefully celebrate my first BSB title.”
This time last year, Haslam had a 30-point lead but fate conspired against him and two crashes meant he ended up third in the title chase.
