Brands BSB: Kiyo ‘not fast enough’ during qualifying

Buildbase BMW’s Ryuichi Kiyonari starts the opening MCE British Superbike race at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit from the front row, but the triple-champ is not entirely happy with his qualifying performance and has declared that he ‘is not fast enough’ at the moment.

The Japanese rider was happy with his pace in FP1 but felt that he hasn’t been able to replicate that fast pace during FP3, and the qualifying sessions. He will try and go faster, and wants to make up for his mistakes from the previous round at Donington Park, but is still a tad upset by his lap times today.

“I feel that I can improve  on my lap time, I am close but not close enough, but I am a little bit better than yesterday. I will try and be faster and stronger and I want to win, and have a strong pace that I did at Donington, but I will try my best,” said Kiyo, at the track.

“This weekend I feel really good, especially in FP1, my lap time was good but it is a bit difficult to get to improve my times. I am a bit upset and I am not fast enough. This morning I tried a long run and it was a little bit better than yesterday.  I will do my best tomorrow.”
