Brands BSB: McGlinchey, Hart, Pinson share Junior Supersport spoils

Eunan McGlinchey, Brian Hart and Elliot Pinson all took to the top step of the podium this weekend as they shared wins in the Dickies Junior Supersport triple-header.

The three front-men have been the series’ protagonists all weekend as they cleared off in every race in a three-way battle for victory.

Team 109’s McGlinchey took the lead ahead of pole-sitter Pinson when the lights went out for race one, but Hart immediately made a pass into Druids, while Pinson trailed closely behind.

But Pinson showed his cards on lap five as he slipped underneath both McGlinchey and Hart at Paddock, holding the lead until lap 11 when McGlinchey got the better of him once again.

Not to be discouraged, Pinson came back past at Druids and looked to have the win in the bag. But a mistake by the Pinson Racing rider on the last corner at Clearways made the way for McGlinchey to slide underneath and eke out the win as Hart took third.

It was Hart’s battle to lose in race two, however, as he took off into the lead from pole with the fastest lap from race one while McGlinchey fought to recover from a bad start.

The podium battle never slowed down, as McGlinchey and Pinson both took stabs at Hart with passes at Paddock only for the KTM UK Junior Team rider to retake the lead before long.

But disaster struck for Pinson two laps from the finish as he made a lunge at Druids only to lose the front and crash out, leaving Hart and McGlinchey to battle it out for the win.

McGlinchey got the better of the Spaniard on the final lap of the Indy circuit and looked to have his second Junior Supersport victory in the bag, but a surprise slipstream move gave Hart the win by a narrow 0.041s as Team XG Racing’s Kade Verwey nabbed the final rostrum spot over 25s further back.

Unsurprisingly, the trio were at it again in race three as they diced nearly all race long, but SymCirrus Motorsport’s Pinson finally redeemed his race two error with a narrow 0.045s win over McGlinchey, with Hart completing the podium.
