Brands BSB: Not-shy Dixon going full-bore for series leaders

Jake Dixon is still bouncing from his Knockhill double win and a big points haul at Snetterton saw the RAF Reserves Kawasaki man claw his way to only six points from an MCE British Superbike Showdown spot.

The Dover rider is still on a high and is absolutely confident he can take the fight to personal manager Shane Byrne and the two JG Speedfit Kawasaki riders at his home race this weekend.

“I can’t wait until Brands Hatch – the home round! Snetterton was ok for us because it was a good points’ haul which put us within four points of the top six. I think before Knockhill I would have been happy with that, but now we should be pushing for podiums and that is what I want,” said Dixon.

“In the first race at Snetterton we used the harder tyre and it was a difficult race so we swapped for the second one and made some big changes and it worked! I managed to get by Leon but he is like a pit bull, he just doesn’t give up! I knew the bunch ahead were about two seconds away, but I just chipped away and managed to get Dan.

“I made a bit of a mistake on the last lap but still managed to go for a move on John and take fourth place on the last corner. A sixth and a fourth isn’t the worst results, especially after a big crash in warm up, but I want to be fighting for wins again now.

“I have always gone well at Brands Hatch in Supersport and the Superstock 600 classes so I feel confident that we can be fighting for podiums again. For sure I really want to take the fight to Shakey and the guys.”
