Brands BSB: O’Halloran gaining confidence on the Fireblade

Honda Racing’s Jason O’Halloran is gaining ‘confidence’ onboard his CBR1000RR Fireblade and that was evident to see during the MCE British Superbike race weekend at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit. The Australian finished within the top ten in both races, coming across the finishing line in fifth and tenth place respectively.

The rider is adamant that he still needs to improve but is happy that his team are moving in the right direction, compared to the opening round of the series at Donington Park. With some solid points taken from this weekend O’Halloran is currently eleventh in the overall standings with 22 points, and is looking forward to the Oulton Park test on Friday.

“The second race wasn't quite as good as race one, but I finished fifth and tenth today, which was a huge improvement from Donington. We made a small change for race two and I struggled in the first half to turn the CBR, so we lost some positions and everyone was running at the same pace so it was hard to get back through," said O'Halloran.

"But we'll take a lot of positives from this weekend and we're a lot closer to the front than we were at the first round. The fifth in race one was really good and gives us confidence going into Oulton Park, which is a circuit I really enjoy. We have a test there next week too, so we should be in good place come the next round.
