Brands BSB: Ray marches to a third Supersport pole

FAB-Racing Yamaha’s Bradley Ray took his third Dickies British Supersport pole position of the year, fighting off a resurgent Joe Francis and his Came BPT Yamaha.

The form man from the second half of the year bounced back after a disastrous last round at Assen. Ray jumped to the top of the timesheets with five minutes remaining, and nobody could better him despite the best efforts of Joe Francis and WD40 Kawasaki’s Tarran Mackenzie.

Francis held on to second quickest despite championship leader Mackenzie challenging throughout the closing stages. Came BPT Yamaha’s Francis was 0.123 off of pole and Mackenzie was further two tenths adrift.

EHA Racing’s David Allingham with his final lap got the better of the second title protagonist, James Westmoreland, pushing the Came BPT Yamaha man back to fifth on the grid.

Luke Jones took sixth place and the second row of the grid, one place ahead of the bike he will ride in 2017 - the Appleyard Macadam Yamaha, with Luke Hedger sitting at the front of the third row in seventh.

Rounding out that third row of the grid will be Jamie Perrin and Matt Truelove.
