Brands BSB: Ryde tops Supersport free practice

CF Motorsport’s Kyle Ryde ended this afternoon’s Motorpoint British Supersport free practice fastest, after going under Alastair Seeley’s lap record of last year.

The talented teenager posted a lap of 46.590 seconds with five minutes of the session remaining, going above Northern Irishman Glenn Irwin.

Irwin also crept beneath his compatriots lap record and was closely followed by Profile Triumph’s Luke Stapleford.

Donington race winner Stapleford ended the session 0.162 of a second adrift of Ryde’s pace, with Traction Control Yamaha’s Andy Reid a further three hundredths back.

Profile Triumph’s Sam Hornsey ended the session fifth quickest ahead of Appleyard Macadam’s Danny Webb. The former GP man was just over half a second shy of the fastest lap.

Joint championship leader Jake Dixon was just two thousandths of a second behind Webb, after leaping up the timesheets with his final lap of the session.

American James Rispoli was eighth quickest after a technical problem cut his session short at the exit of Graham Hill Bend.

Rounding out the top ten was Appleyard Macadam’s Harry Hartley, who bounced back from an engine blow up this morning, and Dean Hipwell.
