Brands BSB: Series leader Nesbitt takes Motostar victory

e3 Motorsport Redline KTM’s Charlie Nesbitt has extended his Hel Performance British Motostar championship lead to thirteen points, after a strong victory out on the Brands Hatch Indy track this afternoon.

But the race did start off in a dramatic fashion as pole-setter, FAB Racing’s Tom Booth-Amos crashed on his opening lap at Paddock Hill, and was taken to the medical centre for further assessment.

Nesbitt ended the race with a 1.8 seconds advantage over RS Racing’s Jake Archer, who is second in the overall series standings too. The podium was completed by Dutch rider, FPW Racing’s Joel Boerboom.

But some riders were penalised for overtaking whilst the safety car was out during the race. CD / IC Racing’s Eugene McManus was demoted two places, JPL Racing’s Josh Owens was docked two places, Mike Brouwers was penalised one place, and Spanish rider Dani Saez three places.

SymCirrus Motorsport’s Edmund Best and Dutchman Vasco Van Der Valk finished the Motostar race inside the top five, with Elliot Lodge and Brouwers completing the top ten.

In the standard class the winner was Jones Brothers Racing’s Dan Jones, with Wilson Racing’s TJ Toms and Repli-Cast UK Racing’s Storm Stacy completing the rostrum.
