Brands BSB: Stapleford cruises to dominant Supersport double

Profile Triumph’s Luke Stapleford secured a dominant Motorpoint British Supersport double after once again taking a lights to flag victory.

From pole position, Stapleford grabbed the holeshot and opened out an early advantage of a second.

Championship rival Kyle Ryde managed to cut the gap down to half a second but with ten laps remaining, Stapleford puled the pin.

Eventually, the gap widened to upwards of five seconds and Stapleford was able to secure his first ever Supersport double. In doing so, he heads to Thruxton eight points clear of Ryde.

Team Traction Control teammates Andy Reid and James Rispoli once again battled it out for the final podium place but it wasn’t to be as action packed as yesterday.

Reid broke clear of Rispoli in the closing stages of the race and picked up his second podium of the weekend despite still recovering from a broken heel.

Profile Triumph’s Sam Hornsey picked up fifth place after a race long battle with fellow Triumph rider Jake Dixon and Gearlink Kawasaki’s Luke Hedger.

Glenn Irwin’s weekend went from bad to worse as after a crash yesterday, he suffered from a technical problem which saw him drop from fifth place to limp home in eighth.

Ben Wilson grabbed ninth ahead of the EVO winner Joe Collier in tenth.
