Brands BSB: Stapleford cruises to Supersport win

Profile Triumph’s Luke Stapleford eased to his thirteenth Motorpoint British Supersport win in impressive style, opening out a three second lead before the race was stopped early due to rain.

From pole position, Stapleford was pushed back to second by Dixon but the Smiths Triumph rider went high and wide at Druids allowing Stapleford to take the lead.

From then on, as we’ve seen so many times this year, Stapleford had a pace nobody else could match.

The battle raged on behind for the final podium places behind with Hornsey holding second place with three laps remaining.

The rain started to fall and Dixon pushed through to second, with Rispoli then grabbing third place.

As they went down the back straight, from nowhere, Kyle Ryde grabbed third place but just as he moved to third the red flag was brought out and the race result went back to the last competed lap.

This handed Profile Triumph’s Sam Hornsey third place and Smiths Triumph’s Jake Dixon second behind the impressive Luke Stapleford who stood on the top of the podium.

Traction Control’s James Rispoli missed out on the podium in fourth and Kyle Ryde will feel hard done by to go down in the results as fifth.

Joe Francis claimed sixth place ahead of Ben Wilson and the best of the EVO riders, Joe Collier.

Luke Hedger and Jamie Perrin rounded out the top ten.
