Brands BSB: Weaving eases to Superstock 600 victory

NMT No Limits Kawasaki’s Jordan Weaving took his second Pirelli National Superstock 600 win on the bounce to close the gap to championship leader Carl Phillips back to just 12 points.

The South African was bundled back to third on the opening lap but after making his way past Bradley Jones and then eventually battling past CF Motorsport’s Taz Taylor, he was able to set the fastest lap of the race en route to victory.

Taylor didn’t make it easy at first for Weaving, with the diminutive lad drafting past Weaving at every opportunity. However, once Weaving got away, Taylor was more than happy to bring it home to the chequered for his first Stock 600 podium.

The battle for third went right to the wire, with Sorrymate.com Yamaha’s Kurt Wigley eventually getting the better of Tom Ward by just 0.047 of a second.

Allied Racing’s Dan Stamper had to settle for fifth place after an early fairing bashing with Ward. The duo collided numerous times as they fought for fourth place, before Ward eventually got the jump on Stamper.

Tsingtao MV Agusta’s Scott Deroue came home in a lonely sixth place, before Harry Truelove took the flag in seventh.

Championship leader Carl Phillips ended up with just eight points back in eighth. The Northern Irishman is going to need a return to his early season form if he wants to hang on to the championship he’s lead since the very start.

Rounding out the top ten were Lewis Rollo on his Kawasaki and George Stanley, also riding a Kawasaki.
