Brink-of-quitting to second Supersport victory for British MV team

Dave Tyson’s Tempus magazine-backed MV Agusta Dickies British Supersport team was almost no more a couple of months ago after thieves stripped their race truck of spares and it was by coincidence Jack Kennedy’s bike was at the team’s sponsor Racebolt otherwise that would have vanished too.

After weeks of begging and borrowing, and receiving great support current and new sponsors, the squad had enough stuff to test at Snetterton, go to Knockhill and then the Norfolk track to compete and on Sunday at Brands Hatch, Kennedy brought home their second win after a scrap with fellow Irishmen Keith Farmer and Andrew Irwin.

“It’s a bit of a fairytale I suppose. We were so close to calling a halt to the whole thing a few weeks ago but with the support of our loyal sponsors and suppliers, the team was able to get back on its feet and Jack’s win on Sunday really made all the heartache and hard work worthwhile,” Tyson told bikesportnews.com this afternoon.

“We were gutted when we found out about the racetruck being cleaned out and there was a point not long after where I considered jacking it all in. But with the support of friends and colleagues and the great support from Tempus magazine and all our sponsors, we managed to pull it all back together and grab that number one spot.

“Jack rode a brilliant race at Brands and the last lap from him was a piece of genius. I am hoping now this will mark us for consistent podiums for the rest of the season and some more wins too.”
