Brookes hints at Superstock and Supersport TT 2017 entries

Josh Brookes may have lined up at least a Superstock entry for this year’s Isle of Man TT and is also looking for a Supersport ride to complement his factory Norton seat in the Superbike and Senior races.

The Australian, who will race alongside compatriot David Johnson on the Aprilia-engined Norton, says he is still a relative newcomer to the event and would like to get in as much track time as possible this year.

“I’ve only got the Superbike and the Senior at this point but I have mentioned it to Rob Winfield, who runs my Anvil TAG Yamaha BSB team, and they have a Superstock bike. It would make sense if they came along and ran it in the Superstock category for me,” said Brookes, speaking at the Villa Marina launch last night.

“He seemed really interested in that idea so there is a strong possibility that if that all works out I will be riding in that class. It would be even better if I could organise a Supersport ride as well. I really need to work on those other classes as a week is too long in between rides as you are giving too much away to other riders.

“I still feel like I am new to the TT, I don’t feel like I am one of the experienced guys and especially with having two years off I need to get in as many laps as I can.”
