Bennetts British Superbike star Kyle Ryde has decided to take a break from racing after a difficult debut season in the championship.

Ryde has struggled to get to grips with the switch from Supersport up to a Superbike even though many thought he would be in with a shout at the Showdown in his first year.

“It’s hard to say but I have chosen to stop racing in BSB with Craig Fitzpatrick and CF Motorsport. Main reason being I’m really struggling to enjoy racing,” said Ryde.

“Racing around risking your life and not enjoying it made me realise we were costing the team and my family money where we shouldn’t be. I feel much better for making this decision. I do love racing and I’m not saying I want to stop forever.

“I really hope I can come back soon but enjoy it and show what I know I can do.”
