Buriram MotoGP test: Vinales changes electronics for more aggression

Movistar Yamaha's Maverick Vinales has turned his works Movistar Yamaha M1 upside down in terms of setup today at the Buriram MotoGP test and believes he has finally found something to combat his acceleration problems.

Vinales believes his team spent so much time trying to smooth out the power delivery in order preserve rear tyre life, it removed all the aggression from the engine and, subsequently, corner-exit punch.

"I think we made the bike too smooth, that is the problem.  We were looking for so much smoothness and we barely stressed the tyres. We tend to have a smooth power delivery and I'm probably better off with a bit more of an aggressive style," said Vinales, speaking at the track

"Until the last 30 minutes of the afternoon, honestly, we've been doing so many changes on the bike, trying to find the way. We changed electronics, especially on the beginning of acceleration, and it seems to improve."
