Ben Currie returned to winning ways in this afternoon's Dickies British Supersport Feature race as he saw off a hard-charging Jack Kennedy to take his fifth win of the year.

The Gearlink Kawasaki rider led nearly every lap of the race and cut a crucial five points out of the Irishman's championship advantage.

Hungry to get back on track for his title chase, Currie shot into the lead as he grabbed the holeshot ahead of Jones and Kennedy, but Jones, fresh off his maiden Supersport win yesterday, levered Currie aside to hit the front at Charlie's.

But his advantage was short-lived as Currie and Kennedy both swept past him under braking into Park, leaving Jones back in third.

As the pack bunched up behind, Currie and Kennedy led a seven-rider train ahead of Jones, Josh Owens, James Rispoli, Tom Oliver and Jamie Perrin.

RS Racing's Owens slipped by Jones to slot into third just after the half-way mark, while Everquip Racing's Rispoli followed the prototype rider through to knock Jones out of podium contention.

Moments later, GP2 class leader Owens was right on Kennedy's tail, joining the fight for overall victory as the leading trio stretched a gap of over 1.3s ahead of Rispoli.

With just over three laps remaining, Kennedy finally found a way through and out-braked Currie at Park, but Currie made a mirror-image move at the exact same spot on the very next lap to retake the lead.

Kennedy had a look at Park and another at the bottom of Mansfield, but couldn't make anything stick and was forced to salvage points as Currie took the win by just 0.101s.

Owens took the GP2 win less than a second behind while Rispoli, over five seconds further back, took the final Supersport podium spot.
