Cadwell BSB: Farmer does the Supersport double

Appleyard Macadam’s Keith Framer did the Dickies British Supersport double at Cadwell Park, and in the feature race on Sunday the main event was certainly action packed.

There was a safety car deployment on lap four at the Lincolnshire track as Halsall Racing’s Joe Francis had a huge crash and was taken to the medical centre in a stretcher. The youngster was then taken to
hospital with a suspected fractured lower vertebrae.

But then more drama occurred just as the safety car was preparing to pull in at the end of lap seven. Gearlink Kawasaki’s Andrew Irwin crashed at Hall Bends whilst he was in second place on the track.

When the safety car finally disappeared into the pits Farmer was able to edge away. Meanwhile Dubliner, Jack Kennedy picked his way through to podium contention and on the final lap gained pace on Farmer and finished 1.2s behind the race winner. Gearlink Kawasaki’s Ben Currie finished in third.

EHA Racing’s David Allingham came fourth, with Finland’s Eemeli Lahti in fifth. Ward, Sissis, Philp, Dixon and Wigley were the other top ten finishers.
