Cadwell BSB: Law edges closer to Stock 600 title

NMT No Limits Kawasaki’s Mason Law extended his championship lead to a hefty 48 points after a dominant Pirelli National Superstock 600 victory.

The Lawman took the holeshot but came under pressure from Taz Mackenzie on the first lap as they braked into Park.

Mackenzie moved to the inside and into the lead but his front end washed from beneath him and the wee Scotsman’s race was over.

Law then came under pressure from another one of his championship rivals, Ben Currie. The Aussie pressured Law for the majority of the race but, whilst sitting third behind Haribo Triumph’s Chrissy Rouse, he also crashed out at the bottom of the Mountain.

Rouse cut Law’s advantage down from a second to nothing, setting a new lap record along the way, but he also ended on the deck.

Having caught the leader, the Geordie lad was sizing Law up for a move but tucked the front after flicking left through Hall Bends.

Law went on to take the chequered flag for the sixth time this year, ahead of his teammate Jordan Weaving. The South African bagged his first career Superstock 600 podium.

A last lap lunge from Andrew Irwin handed him third place but it resulted in Joe Francis crashing out; the resultant enquiry into the incident is ongoing.

Brad Jones came through in fourth place, having battled past Dan Murphy and Ben Stafford.

Ross Twyman ended up seventh, ahead of Keenan Armstrong. Rounding out the top ten were Matt Truelove and Tom Ward.
