Cadwell BSB: Race weekend stats, facts and pub ammo

Cadwell has held a round of the MCE British Superbike Championship every year since 1996, a total of 45 races.

Two meetings were held at the venue in 2010 with a triple-header taking place at the second meeting held that year.

Tommy Hill and Leon Haslam have the record number of wins at Cadwell with six each followed by Chris Walker, Steve Hislop and Josh Brookes (all 4) and James Whitham, Michael Rutter, Shane Byrne and Alex Lowes (all 2).

Peter Hickman took his first BSB career win at Cadwell in 2014. It was also the first BSB victory for the RAF Regular and Reserve team.

Tommy Bridewell also took his first career BSB win at Cadwell in 2014.

Byrne’s victories cover a 13-year period, his first coming in 2003 and his second in 2016.

Byrne has the most number of podiums (13) followed by Rutter and Hill (9), John Reynolds, Walker, Ryuichi Kiyonari, Haslam and Brookes (all 8) and Michael Laverty (7).

Laverty’s last podium at Cadwell came in 2012 with James Ellison’s coming in 2013.

Billy McConnell took his only career BSB podium to date at Cadwell in 2015.

Brookes did the double at Cadwell in 2015 whilst other double victories have been taken by James Whitham (1996), Chris Walker (1998), Steve Hislop (2001 & 2002), Ryuichi Kiyonari (2006), Leon Haslam (2008), Tommy Hill (2011 & 2012) and Alex Lowes (2013).

Leon Haslam scored the most points (45) in the two races held in 2016 followed by Shane Byrne (41), Jason O’Halloran (36), Tommy Bridewell (24) and Peter Hickman (22).

Only Haslam (26) and Byrne (10) led laps during last year’s two races.

Cadwell was the only meeting in 2016 where Christian Iddon failed to score a point.

2017 will be only the second time Sylvain Guintoli has competed at Cadwell Park.

The current lap record was set in race one last year with Leon Haslam lapping at 1’26.590s, 90.63mph.

Haslam’s pole position time in 2016 was 1’25.923s.

However, the ideal lap from last year was 1’25.683s with Shane Byrne having the fastest time in sector 1 (21.886s), Haslam in sector 2 (27.693s) and Byrne in sector 3 (36.104s).

The fastest speed through the speed trap in 2016 was recorded by Glenn Irwin (Be Wiser Ducati) at 165.6mph.

Ducati and Kawasaki both won races in 2016 with Yamaha’s last victories coming in 2015 when Brookes did the double.

Honda’s last win came in 2014 with Hickman while Suzuki’s was in 2004 with Yukio Kagayama.

BMW have never won a BSB race at Cadwell Park.
