Cadwell BSB: Ray back in his comfort zone after double podium

Bradley Ray has revealed he was powerless to keep up with Cadwell Park double race winner Leon Haslam and Jake Dixon today, but says he is still pleased with the progress he’s made.

Ray scored two second places in today’s Bennetts British Superbike championship races, but admitted he was ‘handed’ the second one after Dixon ran off track after attempting to pass Haslam on the final lap.

“To be honest, they both came past me into the top of the gooseneck. I tried for a few laps to keep the pace up but I just couldn’t,” he said. “It was too much of a risk to try and stay there.

“On my pitboard I saw P3 plus six seconds, so it would’ve been silly to push on and have a silly crash. I’m so happy to get a double podium here.

“Unfortunately for Jake, he went into the grass on the last lap and handed second to me, but I’m over to moon to be running up at the front again and to be riding in a podium position.

“It’s great to be back here and I’m happy because it’s vital to get podiums and podium credits at this point in the year. It’s so nice to be back on the podium and be back with the front boys again and having a feeling with my bike that I’m comfortable with so I can push with the front boys.”
