Cadwell BSB: Ray completes maiden double in Supersport

FAB Racing’s Brad Ray completed a career first Dickies British Supersport double just 24 hours after he picked up a debut victory. The talented teen was once again able to comfortably pull clear of Mason Law in the closing stages.

Starting from pole position, Ray was unable to get the holeshot as he did yesterday, instead that went the way of Gearlink Kawasaki’s Mason Law.

The dicing duo moved clear of the rest of the field and it wasn’t until the half race distance that Ray made his move for the lead. He initially went past Law under yellow flags at the end of the Park Straight but realising his mistake, he moved to one side and allowed Law back through.

A lap later, however, at the same place he made it stick with the yellow flags having been removed. Despite Law pushing hard to get the gap down to 0.3, Ray eased it out to well over a second in the closing stages to wrap up an impressive first double win.

Came BPT Yamaha’s James Westmoreland took an important third place, taking full advantage of a lacklustre Tarran Mackenzie, who eventually came across the line in fifth. Leaving Cadwell Park, Westmoreland now heads the championship, three points clear of Mackenzie.

CF Motorsport’s Ben Currie took fourth place, ahead of the battle for fifth. Mackenzie fought off both David Allingham and Luke Hedger to make sure Westmoreland’s new title lead didn’t grow any greater than three points.

Rounding out the top ten were EHA Racing’s Ross Twyman, One Call Triumph’s Joe Collier and Sam Coventry.
