Cadwell BSB: Showdown spot ‘attainable’ for Iddon

Tyco BMW’s Christian Iddon is sure he can move into a Showdown spot by the end of the Silverstone BSB round and his charge to bridge the 20-point gap will start this weekend at Cadwell.

Iddon is currently lying eighth in the title chase but is only 30 points behind Peter Hickman in third and there are 125 points available before the cut is made.

“We only have 30 points between us just outside the top six and third place at the moment so it is definitely attainable to move up the standings here if we can have a good weekend and we still have three races at Silverstone,” said Iddon.

“I am coming into the weekend no differently to normal because you can only go out for every session and do the best you can, you can’t do any more than that. I give it everything every time we go out on circuit and hopefully that will be enough to move into the top six on Sunday.

“I always look forward to a race weekend, but Cadwell Park is always one that if it works out well can be one of the best of the year because it is so rewarding to get it right, but at the same time if you don’t get into a rhythm it can be a punishing weekend.

“I don’t think as a track Cadwell Park is ever dominated by a certain manufacturer, it really comes down to the riders here. It is important to qualify well and we come into this weekend off the back of a good Thruxton compared to last year.”
