Donington BSB: Broken wrist for Taz Mackenzie

McAMS Yamaha’s Taz Mackenzie is hoping to be fit to ride at the Brands Hatch Bennetts British Superbike round after breaking his wrist during a sodden warm-up today at Donington Park.

The youngster fell at McLeans and broke his left ulna but thinks he will be able to ride at the Kent track in two weeks.

“We had some good speed in the wet particularly, which is a definite positive first time out. I’m still learning, after all it’s only my fifth or sixth day on a Superbike but maybe I need to calm down a bit,” said Mackenzie.

“Ultimately I crashed whilsepushing to find the limits, I think I’d be more annoyed if I crashed out of 30th to be honest. My wrist should be alright by Brands so fingers crossed for that and some more dry track time.”
